Job Summary

Assist with geotechnical field exploration and laboratory testing, evaluate subsurface conditions, and support analyses for shallow foundations, seepage and stability, and seismic/liquefaction effects. Help prepare geotechnical data and design reports, coordinate with other engineering disciplines, and oversee subsurface investigation programs while following safety culture. Provide construction oversight and geotechnical exploration, with domestic and international travel and a start date expected in Summer/Fall 2026.

•Assist in the planning, execution, and oversight of geotechnical field exploration and laboratory test programs.
•Evaluate subsurface conditions to determine geotechnical engineering properties and parameters of soil and bedrock.
•Perform geotechnical analyses for shallow foundations (bearing capacity, sliding, and settlement).
•Conduct seepage and stability analyses and perform liquefaction/site class/seismic hazard-related analyses.
•Assist with geotechnical report deliverables, coordinate with in-house engineering disciplines, and participate in construction oversight while adhering to safety culture.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with strong coursework in Geotechnical Engineering, soil mechanics, and foundation engineering, or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience.
•Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.
•Ability to work in inclement weather and lift up to 50 lbs.
•Willingness to travel domestically and internationally 50% of the time.
•EIT certification and/or basic knowledge of industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, gINT, MathCAD, OpenGround) is preferred.
