Key Responsibilities

  • •Support the Search Foundation Team by developing modern, integrated search experiences and search APIs for product discovery.
  • •Build retrieval capabilities for product discovery, combining lexical, semantic, and hybrid retrieval approaches.
  • •Develop search-related libraries based on ElasticSearch and MongoDB.
  • •Contribute to search relevance, quality, and how those outcomes are measured.
  • •Run and maintain scalable search infrastructure as code on Kubernetes using Terraform and multi-tenant architecture; participate in on-call rotation.

Key Requirements

  • •At least 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer with production experience on the JVM.
  • •Solid understanding of parallel/asynchronous programming and non-blocking I/O.
  • •Experience developing REST APIs and knowledge of scalable architectures (e.g., sharding, replication, load balancing, failover).
  • •Pragmatic functional programming approach in Scala (or another JVM language with support to pick up Scala).
  • •Experience operating multi-tenant SaaS where one tenant’s load must not affect another.
