Job Summary

Create CADD/BIM-based engineering designs and drafting deliverables for overhead transmission line, tower, substation interconnection, and power delivery projects. Collect and analyze field and survey data (LiDAR, topographic, GIS) to produce plan-and-profile drawings, structure spotting layouts, foundation plans, and construction packages. Ensure compliance with NESC, utility standards, client requirements, and QA/QC while collaborating across multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide technical design, drafting, and CADD/BIM support for overhead transmission line, transmission structures, utility infrastructure, and power delivery projects.
•Generate detailed PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation-based designs, engineering drawings, and construction packages.
•Produce design-phase deliverables such as plan-and-profile drawings, structure spotting layouts, tower erection drawings, foundation plans, calculations, 3D models, MTOs, BOMs, and construction documents.
•Collect, compile, and analyze data from field investigations, LiDAR/topographic surveys, GIS data, blueprints, schematics, calculations, and as-built drawings to support design work.
•Ensure designs comply with NESC, utility standards, QA/QC procedures, client specifications, and relevant regulatory and permitting requirements.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma and minimum 7 years of relevant post-education experience with prior drafting and design support experience.
•Knowledge of drafting/design support principles, practices, methods, and techniques.
•Knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
•Ability to make technical computations and calculations using geometry and mathematical concepts while understanding plans/specifications.
•Proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software/technology, math principles, spreadsheets, and tools.
