Job Summary

Join Okta as a Solutions Engineer on the West Coast, acting as the technical and domain expert for a corporate/new business sales team. You will deliver product demonstrations, run proofs-of-concept, answer technical questions, and advise a diverse set of customers on aligning Okta’s Identity Platform with their cloud security needs, while feeding insights back to product and sharing best practices across the team.

Job Function: Solutions Engineering & Sales Engineering

Key Responsibilities

•Be the technical and domain expert for the Corporate/New Business sales team to help customers understand the value of Okta’s solutions.
•Deliver product demonstrations and answer product feature and technical questions from customers, partners, and Okta colleagues.
•Plan and deliver Proof Of Concepts for complex use cases, collaborating with other Okta engineering teams as needed.
•Provide feedback to product management about enhancements that address customer needs and add value.
•Share best practices and reusable assets with other Solutions Engineers to improve team quality and efficiency.

Travel: Medium travel

Key Requirements

•5+ years of pre-sales engineering experience in IAM.
•Strong understanding of IAM concepts, including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and SAML.
•Experience with lifecycle management, RBAC, and provisioning/deprovisioning.
•Hands-on experience with web/mobile/backend development and REST APIs, API Gateways, and SDKs.
•Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or a comparable field is preferred.
