Key Responsibilities

•Lead the civil design of mine waste containment (tailings and waste rock) and heap leach facilities, including layout, site selection, geotechnical and hydrologic analyses, and preparation of drawings and specs for construction.
•Manage and execute a broad range of mine waste geotechnical projects, including field investigations, lab testing, data interpretation, and analyses.
•Scope and review complex geotechnical analyses focusing on soil mechanics, stability, seepage, thermal modelling, deposition modelling, and run-out analyses for mine waste structures.
•Independently manage projects to meet client-approved scopes, delivering high-quality reports on time and within budget under senior oversight.
•Develop and maintain client relationships and contribute to business development activities to grow the practice.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering
•7 to 10 years of post-education experience in engineering and geotechnical design
•Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
•Demonstrated experience on tailings management and heap leach facility design in mining; familiarity with common software
•Strong knowledge of soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering
