Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the realization of the company charter across key developer experience infrastructure components including build systems, CI/CD, test infrastructure, observability, and dev/test environments.
  • •Optimize performance and usability and simplify configuration of developer workflows throughout the development pipeline to production.
  • •Partner with engineers across iOS, Android, web, and backend to identify pain points and gaps in systems and tools, and iterate on solutions.
  • •Evaluate and drive adoption of impactful technologies by exploring best-in-class and cutting-edge options relevant to Thumbtack.
  • •Drive engineering projects to completion with urgency, solving hard technical problems across front-end, back-end, and infrastructure as needed.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 170,800 - 221,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 4+ years of industry experience in software engineering.
  • •Fluency in at least one major programming language and ability to switch between languages and frameworks.
  • •Experience writing high quality, maintainable, testable, reliable, and performant code.
  • •Experience working on a developer infrastructure team or in developer experience roles, or contributing to related open source projects.
  • •Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to rigorously analyze tradeoffs and deliver impactful solutions.
