Key Responsibilities

  • •Serve as a deep technical expert on global card networks, helping Issuing teams interpret specifications, message flows, certification requirements, mandates, and production behavior.
  • •Lead complex, ambiguous engineering problems at the network boundary spanning multiple teams, systems, or domains.
  • •Stay hands-on by writing production code, building certification and conformance tooling, analyzing network messages, and debugging at the protocol/field level.
  • •Drive network certification and mandatory release cycles end to end, translating network requirements into clear engineering decisions.
  • •Provide operational ownership through on-call, incident response, and continuous improvements to reliability and correctness.

Key Requirements

  • •Deep, current expertise with at least one major card network (ideally Visa), including connectivity, ISO 8583, authorization/clearing flows, specifications, certification, and mandate cycles.
  • •Hands-on experience building and operating highly reliable financial or payments systems at scale.
  • •Experience working directly with card networks to achieve concrete outcomes (e.g., rulings, exceptions, extensions, configuration changes, defect fixes, certification outcomes).
  • •Directly built/certified/operated a live direct network connection (not only via a processor).
  • •Fluency with AI-assisted engineering workflows and strong judgment in applying AI-generated output.
