Job Summary

Work as a SerDes Validation Engineer in AMD’s SerDes Technology team, collaborating with product development, silicon design, DFT, packaging, and technology partners. Validate and characterize SerDes PHY functionality and performance versus design targets and industry standards for electrical and optical interfaces. Troubleshoot issues to determine root cause, provide feedback to designers, and develop test automation to improve test coverage and data analysis from concept through production deployment.

Key Responsibilities

•Validate and characterize AMD’s SerDes PHY functionality and performance against design targets, product requirements, datasheets, and industry standards.
•Collaborate with internal and external teams to troubleshoot issues and determine root cause; provide feedback to designers and architects for improvements.
•Partner with architects, design engineers, and application engineers to understand specifications and features for silicon validation and characterization.
•Ensure and enhance SerDes performance for electrical and/or optical while complying with industry standards such as PCIe, IEEE, and OIF.
•Develop test automations using advanced scripting/programing skills to improve test and data analysis efficiency and coverage.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 175,000 - 300,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Validate and characterize SerDes PHY functionality and performance against design targets, product requirements, datasheets, and industry standards.
•Use hands-on lab instruments such as high-speed scopes, BERT, VNA, and other associated equipment.
•Perform mixed-signal analysis and issue debugging to troubleshoot problems and identify root cause.
•Develop and enhance test automation using advanced scripting/programing skills for improved test and data analysis efficiency and coverage.
•Have knowledge of SerDes electrical compliance for standards such as PCIe, IEEE, and OIF; BS or MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred.
