Key Responsibilities

  • •Execute full-cycle monthly payroll processing for Portugal, including absences, allowances, and overtime, meeting internal policies and external deadlines.
  • •Manage Workday and SAP Payroll as the primary system expert, including data synchronization, auditing, troubleshooting, and leading UAT for system updates and integrations.
  • •Analyze payroll data and workflows to identify bottlenecks and design automated solutions to reduce manual work, mitigate risk, and scale operations.
  • •Ensure compliance with Portuguese labor laws, collective agreements (ACTs), and tax regulations; manage statutory declarations including Social Security, IRS, garnishments, and annual reporting.
  • •Conduct payroll data audits, reconcile payroll GL accounts, investigate complex discrepancies, and provide expert support via the People Team mailbox for complex payroll and policy queries.

Key Requirements

  • •4+ years of proven end-to-end payroll processing experience in Portugal, ideally in a mid-to-large multinational corporate environment.
  • •Advanced technical proficiency with Workday (HCM/Payroll) and SAP Payroll.
  • •Deep understanding of Portuguese payroll taxes (IRS), social security deductions, and year-end compliance standards.
  • •Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel, with strong ability in data analysis, financial reconciliations, and custom reporting.
  • •Full professional fluency in English (written and spoken), with excellent communication and attention to detail.
