Job Summary

Direct the site’s Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE) and Security programs for a chemical and polymer manufacturing facility in Clinton, IA. Lead continuous improvement of HSE performance using KPIs, ensure compliance with local/state/federal regulations, and develop cost-effective HSE strategies. Partner with plant staff to drive safety culture, oversee investigations and follow-up on incidents and near misses, and lead a team of about ten employees plus a contract security force.

•Lead the HSE function to ensure continuous improvement of HSE programs and performance.
•Establish and maintain key performance indicators to measure site HSE performance.
•Ensure HSE programs and practices align with Operational Excellence Standards and comply with local, state, and federal requirements.
•Develop and deploy HSE programs to reduce work-related injuries/illnesses and prevent harm to the environment.
•Provide guidance, direction, and coaching to HSE and security professionals, including setting performance and development goals for a team of ten and managing a contract security force.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in engineering, relevant sciences, or a specific HSE discipline.

•Knowledge/experience with HSE, operating, maintenance, and engineering processes and procedures in manufacturing.
•Demonstrated people and organizational leadership skills with strong oral and written communication.
