Key Responsibilities

  • •Own and oversee Australia’s regulatory compliance framework for consumer credit and related financial services, including applicable acts, privacy requirements, licence conditions, and regulatory guidance.
  • •Maintain documented compliance arrangements and manage regulatory change, including BNPL/low cost credit and consumer credit rule updates.
  • •Lead ASIC examinations, inquiries, information requests, licence interactions, and supervise timely regulatory notifications and reporting.
  • •Manage regulatory risk and controls by maintaining obligations registers, running compliance risk assessments, driving remediation and root-cause analysis, and monitoring compliance metrics.
  • •Lead people management for a junior compliance team and partner cross-functionally to provide regulatory guidance and challenge across product, marketing, servicing, privacy, and engineering initiatives.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years of regulatory compliance experience in an Australian regulated financial services, consumer credit, payments, or fintech environment, with prior people management experience.
  • •Strong working knowledge of Australian consumer credit and conduct regulation, including ASIC expectations and Australian credit licensing.
  • •Ability to translate regulatory interpretation into practical business decisions and lead regulatory change and obligations management.
  • •Experience overseeing compliance monitoring and testing, breach and reportable-situations processes, complaints oversight, regulatory reporting, and remediation programs.
  • •Bachelor’s degree required; relevant legal, compliance, risk, governance, or financial services qualification preferred.
