Key Responsibilities

  • •Support countries to improve routine immunization coverage by analyzing causes of low coverage and developing, implementing, and monitoring operational plans.
  • •Develop guidelines and facilitate immunization and vaccine-preventable disease control training activities.
  • •Provide technical assistance for immunization policy development and development of costed multi-year immunization plans.
  • •Review opportunities for integrating immunization services with health systems and provide technical support, including monitoring Gavi-supported immunization and health system activities.
  • •Support surveillance for AEFI and vaccine-preventable diseases, and help drive demand generation for vaccination in collaboration with partner organizations.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree in medicine or health sciences.
  • •At least five years of relevant experience in immunization and vaccine preventable disease control programmes, with demonstrated international exposure.
  • •Experience in public health and health systems, vaccine preventable disease surveillance, or communicable disease epidemiology.
  • •Thorough knowledge of public health and immunization/vaccine preventable disease control.
  • •Ability to monitor and evaluate, analyze data, plan and deliver training, write concise reports, and use computers and modern office technologies effectively; negotiation skills with national authorities and agencies.
