Job Summary

Serve as a trusted technical advisor at Kong, helping enterprise customers architect secure, scalable API ecosystems while transitioning into the agentic AI era. Partner with field sales to run discovery, validate POCs end-to-end, and lead complex multi-stakeholder deal strategy. Deliver demos, feasibility workshops, and technical documentation, while collaborating with support, product, and engineering to shape product direction and governance around AI/LLM workflows.

Key Responsibilities

•Support field sales by helping customers understand Kong’s API and AI connectivity platform and value.
•Run discovery conversations and map customer requirements to Kong solutions from product reviews through production.
•Own technical validation for POCs and ensure stakeholder alignment across the evaluation process.
•Lead and support API Management and AI governance evaluations, including scoping API/AI use cases, LLM traffic management, and governance requirements.
•Deliver demonstrations and technical feasibility workshops, create DevOps/implementation documentation, and mentor junior SEs.

Key Requirements

•7+ years of software engineering and/or solutions engineering experience in SaaS, open source, or enterprise software.
•Own complex, enterprise-level deals across multiple technical and executive stakeholders.
•Experience mentoring or coaching SEs or technical team members.
•Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native platforms.
•Experience with REST and GraphQL APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and API security patterns (OAuth2, OIDC, mTLS), plus AI-assisted development tooling (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex, or equivalent).
