Job Summary

Build and lead a high-impact pre-sales Field Engineering team focused on Cursor’s healthcare vertical. Partner with Sales and AEs to run technical discovery, demos, and proofs of concept for health systems, payers, and healthcare software companies. Establish evaluation best practices and escalation support for complex enterprise deals, while hiring, coaching, and scaling Field Engineers. Feed customer insights back to Product and Engineering to improve Cursor’s AI-native development platform for healthcare engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead, coach, and scale a team of Field Engineers supporting enterprise opportunities.
•Partner with Sales leadership and AEs to drive high-quality technical discovery, demos, and POCs.
•Establish best practices for evaluations and proof-of-concept execution, including healthcare-specific requirements (HIPAA, data governance, legacy system integration).
•Serve as an escalation point for complex customer evaluations and high-stakes enterprise deals in healthcare.
•Hire, onboard, and develop Field Engineering talent with healthcare or regulated-industry domain experience; act as the voice of the field internally and ensure handoffs to post-sales teams.

Key Requirements

•4+ years leading Field Engineers, Solutions Architects, or Pre-Sales teams in enterprise software, with meaningful exposure to healthcare or another regulated industry.
•Direct experience navigating healthcare buyer environments (health systems, payers, or healthcare software vendors) including compliance, security, and procurement dynamics.
•Proven ability to partner effectively with Sales while maintaining technical integrity and customer trust.
•Comfort operating in customer-facing, high-pressure deal environments and guiding teams through complexity.
•Strong communication skills and executive presence, able to engage developers, architects, CTOs, and healthcare IT leadership.
