Key Responsibilities

  • •Deliver and review civil engineering designs supporting projects throughout the nuclear asset lifecycle, including new build, operations, asset care, maintenance, life extension, and decommissioning.
  • •Develop civil engineering solutions for major nuclear infrastructure projects, including site development, roads and access infrastructure, drainage, earthworks, utility networks, and reinforced concrete structures.
  • •Undertake feasibility studies, optioneering, site assessments, and concept design activities to inform project development and investment decisions.
  • •Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to develop safe, efficient, and innovative engineering solutions in highly regulated environments.
  • •Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, calculations, and health and safety documentation; apply standards, procedures, and quality requirements within regulated environments.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • •Chartered Engineer (CEng MICE) or working towards professional chartership.
  • •Experience delivering civil engineering projects across the nuclear asset lifecycle (new build, operations, life extension, decommissioning, waste management, environmental remediation) with understanding of UK nuclear programmes (SMRs/AMRs).
  • •Experience designing and delivering civil engineering solutions including site development, earthworks, drainage, highways, utilities, and reinforced concrete and steel structures.
  • •Good understanding of relevant design codes and standards, including British Standards, Eurocodes, and nuclear-specific standards.
