Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and grow the platform team for cloud infrastructure and reliability, setting direction, running hiring, coaching engineers, and maintaining sustainable on-call load.
  • •Own the end-to-end multi-region cloud footprint (compute, networking, data stores, Kubernetes, identity, and infrastructure-as-code) with in-region clinical data residency.
  • •Set and maintain the reliability bar by defining SLIs/SLOs with product teams, running error budgets, and reporting honestly on reliability spending.
  • •Own incident response by defining severity/escalation paths, communicating with healthcare system customers during outages, and completing blameless post-incident follow-ups.
  • •Partner with release and engineering leads to improve shipping safety using feature flags, canary and staged rollouts, and rollback paths; improve deployment frequency and change lead time without increasing failure rates.

Key Requirements

  • •Significant experience running cloud infrastructure or SRE teams at scale, including leading engineers.
  • •Hands-on expertise with a major cloud provider, Kubernetes, Terraform (or equivalent IaC), and modern observability stacks.
  • •Proven reliability practice: defining SLOs, enforcing error budgets, commanding incidents, and running post-incident reviews that change design.
  • •Experience designing for high availability across regions, including failure modes, data residency constraints, and DR testing.
