Key Responsibilities

  • •Guide glab’s technical direction, owning architecture, implementation, and evolution.
  • •Design and ship terminal-first Go features and workflows with strong developer experience, performance, scripting-friendly output, and backwards compatibility.
  • •Absorb changing inputs from Product, the open source community, and internal teams to re-prioritize and deliver iterative improvements.
  • •Partner with Product Management to shape and execute the roadmap by framing problems, clarifying trade-offs, and turning feedback into focused changes.
  • •Steer the open source project through triage, reviewing and merging contributions, and maintaining a high quality bar while engaging contributors.

Key Requirements

  • •Significant professional experience with Go and building command-line interfaces or systems-level tools, including thoughtful command/flag design and scripting-friendly, backwards-compatible output across Linux, macOS, and Windows.
  • •A sustained history of open source contributions through issues, merge requests, and reviews, ideally including project triage or maintainership.
  • •Ability to operate as a self-directed owner who can absorb changing inputs, re-prioritize, and keep delivering iterative improvements.
  • •Strong product and user-experience instincts for developer workflows, including framing problems, simplifying scope, making trade-offs, and saying no or “not yet” to improve the experience.
  • •Experience setting technical direction and influencing work across teams in an IC role.
