Key Responsibilities

  • •Conduct visual structural condition assessments across remote mining environments and critical water infrastructure, including verification of load paths, corrosion, concrete degradation, deformation, weld conditions, and anchorage integrity.
  • •Assign severity classifications based on structural priority systems and escalate imminent risk conditions to clients and internal project managers.
  • •Prepare inspection reports using approved templates, including deficiency data via annotated redlines and high-resolution photos.
  • •Lead structural engineering work across project phases (scoping, feasibility, detailed design, procurement, and commissioning) and support site visits for execution support.
  • •Collaborate with clients and internal mechanical, electrical, and civil teams; mentor junior engineers and EITs; support business development through trusted-advisor relationships.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering (or equivalent).
  • •6+ years of structural engineering experience focused on asset management, structural condition assessments, and brownfield remediation.
  • •Ability and willingness to perform hands-on field inspections in challenging environments, including remote underground mines and active water treatment facilities.
  • •Expert knowledge of Canadian structural design codes (CSA S16 for structural steel and CSA A23.3 for concrete).
  • •Access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s license (clean driver’s record required).
