Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide legal support to Northern Trust’s EMEA asset servicing business, with focus on fund services and global custody.
  • •Work with advisory lawyers on preparation, review, and maintenance of playbooks, checklists, and guidance notes, including initial review of privacy incident obligations.
  • •Draft and review legal documentation including NDAs, intercompany agreements, amendment agreements, and market-standard product agreements/terms of business.
  • •Prepare execution versions of documents using Docusign and coordinate transaction signings.
  • •Set up matters in the E-billing platform, help manage invoices internally and with law firms, and conduct preliminary legal research as directed.

Key Requirements

  • •Senior paralegal/paralegal experience in a reputable law firm or financial institution with asset management or asset servicing expertise.
  • •Experience across depositary, fund administration, and/or global custody, with advantageous exposure to one or more of these areas.
  • •Strong integrity and ethical judgment, with a commercial/pragmatic understanding of business needs.
  • •Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and strong organisational and analytical skills.
  • •Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills across a broad suite of contracts, working with advisory lawyers.
