Job Summary

Own end-to-end oversight of the Wealth and Personal Banking (WPB) trial balance and ensure the integrity of the ledger close for HSBC UK. You’ll lead controls and accounting completeness in line with IFRS, manage issue escalation and governance in a “no surprises” control culture, and perform proactive reviews of business products. Partner with senior stakeholders across Finance, lead team development, and provide directional support to the India Finance center.

Key Responsibilities

•Own end-to-end oversight of the WPB trial balance and ensure integrity of the ledger close across the full trial balance for HSBC UK.
•Guide Finance Operations to ensure accounting completeness per IFRS and smooth ledger close with appropriate review and support.
•Lead issue management by escalating issues early and ensuring key management judgements have integrity and oversight.
•Conduct proactive reviews of business products, aligning accounting assessment with business terms and conditions.
•Manage and develop the team with line management of two colleagues in Birmingham, provide directional support to the India Finance center team, and act as a technical subject-matter expert for wider finance.
