Job Summary

Own the global strategy for high-performance apparel materials and advance textile technology in line with the company vision. Lead technical sourcing and creation of knits, wovens, and trims, manage multi-season material development workstreams, and drive sustainability targets. Develop and maintain material specifications using a PLM system, oversee lifecycle testing for sports performance, and build supplier partnerships. Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver innovative fabrics from concept through garment production.

Key Responsibilities

•Execute the global performance materials strategy and advance textile technology for performance and sustainability goals.
•Define, develop, and lead the creation and strategic sourcing of technical, high-performance apparel materials (knits, wovens, trims/embellishment).
•Establish and manage fabric availability standards, sourcing policies, and quality assurance processes across the global supply chain.
•Lead multi-season material development workstreams and coordinate alignment with program objectives.
•Create and maintain material and trim specifications using the PLM system; manage lifecycle and testing for high-intensity sports applications.

Travel: Extensive travel

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Textile Engineering, Textile Technology, Apparel Science, or a related field; Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
•8+ years of experience in performance apparel material/fabric development with technical textiles, innovative synthetics, or sports apparel execution.
•Extensive global travel experience to T2 material mills/suppliers and T1 garment factories to troubleshoot and develop materials at the source.
•Proven experience managing cross-functional material development projects from concept to commercial production across a matrixed organization.
•Strong knowledge of performance fabrics and garment construction methods (e.g., bonding, seam-sealing, knitting) plus industry manufacturing processes.
