Key Responsibilities

  • •Apply Safety, Health, and Environment principles in all learner interactions to support zero harm.
  • •Deliver legal authorisation training during weekly training shifts, including SOP and simulation-based interventions where available.
  • •Design, develop, and maintain training matrices, materials, programs, and assessments; conduct practical and theoretical sessions.
  • •Assess learners against legal authorisation standards and monitor/evaluate progress according to NQF standards, drafting progress reports where applicable.
  • •Maintain learners’ portfolios and keep training documents and records up to date and accessible as required by MQA and Kumba.

Key Requirements

  • •Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate, NQF Level 4) or equivalent with an SAQA-recognised qualification.
  • •Relevant ETDP qualification at NQF 5 (e.g., National Certificate: ODETDP).
  • •Assessor Certification (Conduct Outcomes-Based Assessments) and/or MQA Assessor Registration in the relevant discipline.
  • •Minimum 3 years of relevant experience with heavy mining equipment/earthmoving equipment in a mining environment, or minimum 2 years as a Training Officer on such equipment.
  • •Understand adult learning principles and methodologies, including training needs analysis, curriculum development, and instructional design.
