Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the technical direction and roadmap for Developer Infrastructure, serving as the Uber Tech Lead across DevX, TestX, Backend Platform, and Mobile Platform.
  • •Lead and evolve Bazel-based monorepo build infrastructure, including remote build execution and build optimization across Python, Go, TypeScript, and more.
  • •Scale CI/CD pipelines to support thousands of daily builds by overseeing repository configurations, pre-merge checks, and test execution infrastructure.
  • •Drive TestX vision by building the test infrastructure and environments (integration and personal development environments) that simulate the full system.
  • •Champion AI and agentic systems across the software development lifecycle, improving developer velocity, code quality, and innovation pace.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years of software engineering experience with a track record at the Senior Staff, Principal, or Distinguished Engineer level, setting org/company-wide technical direction.
  • •Deep expertise with Bazel and large-scale monorepo build systems, including owning remote build execution infrastructure at scale.
  • •Experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines at massive scale across thousands of daily builds and complex pre-merge logic.
  • •Fluency in Go and/or Python; broad familiarity with TypeScript, Swift, or Android development environments.
  • •Strong background with distributed systems, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), plus test infrastructure experience and hands-on interest in agentic AI for developer velocity.
