Job Summary

Provide speech and language services to students as determined by each student’s IEP, working under the supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist. Communicate with parents and teachers to support schedules and engagement, develop progress reports and required documentation, and maintain student records. Collect data to monitor IEP goal progress, instruct families and staff on communication strategies and technologies, and deliver engaging therapy experiences while maintaining compliance with state, school, and company regulations.

Key Responsibilities

•Ensure speech and language services are delivered as determined by the IEP team, including using provided resources for accommodations and modifications.
•Communicate with parents and teachers to develop schedules that encourage regular attendance and student participation.
•Develop progress reports and other required special education documentation, and maintain files/records using specified systems (e.g., progress reports, activity logs, treatment plans).
•Collect data and work samples to monitor student progress toward IEP goals and objectives.
•Instruct students, families, and teachers in appropriate communication strategies and technologies to minimize educational impact of communication disorders and improve classroom success.

Key Requirements

•Active speech-language pathology assistant license issued by the state department of education and/or state board.
•Associates Degree in Speech Communication or related field, plus two (2) years of speech/language work experience in a public-school setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Availability during typical school hours of at least 20 hours per week, with ability to maintain a professional home office.
•Knowledge of Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) due process requirements and the ability to conduct and interpret comprehensive speech-language evaluations.
•Ability to provide speech-language therapy services and work collaboratively with staff to plan and deliver services to children.
