Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide nuclear facility safety technical support services for DOE nuclear facilities at the Y-12 National Security Complex.
  • •Apply 10 CFR 830 Subpart B and applicable DOE safety standards to support facility safety management.
  • •Perform hazard identification/screening/evaluation and accident and consequence analysis.
  • •Select and document engineered and administrative controls for prevention/mitigation of postulated accidents.
  • •Serve as a Lead Facility Safety Engineer in either the 9212 or 9215 complexes (as applicable).

Salary: USD 138,285 - 235,209 annually

Key Requirements

  • •BS degree plus 20+ years of direct experience with 10+ years of DOE-specific experience in Nuclear/Safety Analysis Engineering.
  • •Demonstrated experience with hazard identification, hazard screening, and hazard evaluation processes.
  • •Experience with accident and consequence analysis and the selection of engineered and/or administrative controls credited for prevention or mitigation of postulated accidents.
  • •Ability to document results in safety analysis reports, documented safety analyses, and technical safety requirements.
  • •Ability to obtain DOE Q clearance (Active DOE Q preferred) and meet pre-employment requirements including physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation; must be a US citizen and at least 18 years old.
