Key Responsibilities

  • •Architect, implement, and manage WAAP platforms including WAF, API security (discovery, protection, runtime analysis), bot management, and L3–L7 DDoS protection.
  • •Develop and maintain custom WAF rules, security policies, and signatures; perform false-positive tuning, policy optimization, and rule lifecycle management.
  • •Enable API discovery, schema enforcement, and API protection against OWASP API Top 10 threats; integrate OWASP Top 10 controls (SQLi, XSS, RCE, etc.).
  • •Integrate WAAP with SIEM/SOAR platforms, identity providers, and threat intelligence feeds; onboard applications and conduct security assessments and risk reviews.
  • •Lead WAAP incident response and root-cause analysis for application-layer attacks; define and track security metrics/KPIs and ensure compliance with CIS, NIST, and Zero Trust frameworks.

Key Requirements

  • •6–10 years of experience in WAAP with strong hands-on experience in WAF policy creation and tuning.
  • •WAAP platform experience (Akamai preferred; Cloud WAF or equivalent accepted) including web WAF, API security, bot management, and L3–L7 DDoS protection.
  • •Deep knowledge of OWASP Top 10 (web and API) and application-layer threats, including protections for SQLi, XSS, and RCE.
  • •Experience enabling API discovery and schema enforcement, plus authentication enforcement and protection against OWASP API Top 10 threats.
  • •Hands-on network security experience with firewalls and security infrastructure (e.g., Fortinet, Palo Alto, Juniper, IDS/IPS, VPN, SIEM) and secure hybrid environment design.
