Key Responsibilities

  • •Inspect, sample, and test aggregates, asphalt, and other materials for quality control using accepted methods.
  • •Sample and test mixtures to remain in compliance with contract specifications and quality control tolerances.
  • •Monitor and test process functions and materials daily to ensure products meet or exceed agency/customer requirements.
  • •Prepare, record, and maintain accurate test information and results in a test database.
  • •Maintain laboratory equipment and associated certification paperwork; follow quality control plans, safety policies, and OSHA/MSHA regulations.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
  • •Must obtain and maintain DOT certifications required by state regulations to test asphalt.
  • •Less than one year of experience in a related field.
  • •Must be 18 years or older and pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and a criminal background check.
  • •Must understand DOT regulations (sampling frequency/methods, gradation and quality requirements) and perform simple mathematic calculations.
