Job Summary

Install and troubleshoot audio-visual systems for AVI-SPL customer projects, including cable pulls/terminations, equipment setup, rack fabrication and wiring, and conduit/cable tray routing. You’ll read schematics and construction blueprints, test point-to-point cabling, manage tools and equipment on site, and coordinate daily status with the Project Manager. For smaller projects, lead Level 1 technicians and serve as the customer liaison for onsite changes.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform AV installation tasks including cable pulls/terminations, installing system equipment/components, and rack fabrication and wiring.
•Read and interpret project system schematics and architectural/construction blueprints, and use hand/power tools to complete installations.
•Test point-to-point cabling and functionality of systems, diagnose and resolve technical issues with AV equipment and systems.
•Track, manage, and secure jobsite equipment and tools; communicate daily jobsite status and coordinate onsite changes with the Project Manager.
•Lead and direct installation crews/Level 1 technicians on less complex projects and coordinate with other trades; travel to job sites as required.

Key Requirements

•2–4 years of audio-visual installation experience and the ability to install, terminate, and troubleshoot low-voltage cabling.
•Intermediate understanding of AV systems (projectors, screens, speakers, microphones, video conferencing, digital signage, and control systems).
•Experience with network infrastructure integration for AV (IP-based systems, streaming, and cloud-based services).
•Ability to read and interpret system schematics and architectural/construction blueprints, using hand/power tools safely.
•Valid Driver’s License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL Driving Privileges standards; minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
