Job Summary

Provide legal guidance on complex payments and financial services regulations across APAC, with involvement in the Middle East. Support regulatory licensing, engage with regulators, and shape Payoneer’s regulatory strategy while coordinating with regional compliance, outside counsel, and cross-functional teams to enable new services from a global perspective.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide legal advice to assist Payoneer in evaluating and managing significant regulatory matters across APAC with additional support for the Middle East region.
•Support regional Compliance teams in building and maintaining good working relationships with regulators.
•Support regulatory licensing, authorisation, and supervisory matters, including preparation for and engagement with regulators in license applications.
•Research, analyze, and determine effects of evolving regulations across multiple markets and keep current on regulatory changes impacting Payoneer’s strategic goals.
•Liaise with outside counsel across the region and support cross-functional teams in developing new services and public policy strategy.

Key Requirements

•Admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore or another common law jurisdiction (e.g. UK, Australia, or Hong Kong), and eligible to work in-house in Singapore.
•At least 4-5 years of legal experience with a focus on financial services, payments, fintech or regulatory advisory. Payments industry experience is preferred.
•Experience working directly with regulators and regulatory authorities or exposure to licensing matters is an advantage.
•Experience supporting cross-border regulatory projects, particularly in the Middle East, is a plus.
•Ability to evaluate facts, identify legal issues, analyze statutes, and recommend appropriate actions; provide practical legal advice to internal stakeholders.
