Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide technical assistance and engineering guidance for multi-site, multi-phase substation projects, including due diligence, investigation, impact assessment, permitting support, and design through construction activities.
  • •Determine methods for collecting, compiling, and analyzing protection and control requirements, equipment specifications, and detailed design/review processes aligned with IEEE, NESC, and NERC standards.
  • •Develop protection and control engineering deliverables including one-line and three-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, elementary diagrams, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, termination drawings, and panel layouts.
  • •Develop engineering calculations and deliverables for station service loading, CT/VT sizing, protective device coordination, relay logic/settings support, and substation automation integration requirements.
  • •Support investigations, inspections, and commissioning activities; prepare technical reports and site-specific Health and Safety Plans (HASPs); and provide guidance/training to entry-level engineers.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • •7 to 10 years of relevant post-education experience as an electrical engineer with protection and control or electrical design deliverables for large capital projects, preferably substations/utility-scale infrastructure.
  • •Engineer in Training Certification.
  • •Proficiency in electrical engineering principles and substation protection/control design processes and build applications.
  • •Working knowledge of relevant engineering and electrical construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
