Key Responsibilities

  • •Act as primary technical escalation point for security firmware issues on SSD products, triaging and driving cases to closure within response commitments.
  • •Guide customers through configuration, integration, and validation of SSD security features and commands (e.g., TCG Opal/Enterprise SSC, ATA/NVMe security, secure boot, signed updates, sanitize/cryptographic erase, attestation).
  • •Reproduce customer, qualification, and field failures; analyze firmware logs/traces/bus captures; debug Security Firmware source; and deliver documented root cause and corrective actions.
  • •Develop, unit test, and functionally validate targeted security firmware changes and customer-specific configurations to meet security, functional, performance, and reliability requirements before release.
  • •Assess vulnerabilities and support incident response, mitigation planning, remediation delivery, and customer disclosure while maintaining issue records and documentation.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's or master's degree in computer or electrical engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • •Customer-facing engineering experience such as customer engineering support, field applications, sustaining engineering, or escalation management.
  • •Embedded security domain knowledge, including cryptography fundamentals (AES, RSA/ECC, SHA), key management, secure boot, and secure firmware updates.
  • •Familiarity with storage security standards and features including TCG Opal/Enterprise SSC, ATA Security, NVMe security and sanitize commands, and self-encrypting drive operations.
  • •Programming and debugging expertise using languages/tools/environments such as C, C++, Rust, Python (test automation, log parsing, debug tooling) plus knowledge of storage interfaces (PCIe/NVMe, SATA, SAS).
