Key Responsibilities

  • •Apply Infrastructure as Code experience to develop and continuously improve automation and IaC processes within the IS team.
  • •Automate software operations for re-usability and consistency across private and public clouds, accounting for distributed systems complexity.
  • •Develop new features and improve resilience and scalability for Canonical’s existing cloud and container portfolio.
  • •Maintain operational responsibility for core services, networks, and infrastructure, including observability, monitoring, and alerting.
  • •Collaborate on service architecture, documentation, playbooks, and operational procedures; provide final responsibility for time-critical escalations.

Key Requirements

  • •Deep experience defining operations in code using version control, peer review, and CI/CD for both applications and infrastructure.
  • •Strong software engineering background (peer review, unit testing, SCM, CI/CD, Agile).
  • •Python experience with large projects and practical knowledge of Linux networking, routing, and firewalls.
  • •Hands-on experience administering enterprise Linux servers and familiarity with Linux storage (e.g., Ceph) and databases.
  • •Ability to troubleshoot from kernel to web, communicate clearly in English, and work effectively in distributed teams; bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
