Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and coordinate crane operations, including pre-operation safety briefings covering constraints, lifting plans, and deck responsibilities.
  • •Ensure safety for personnel involved in crane operations, including correct PPE use and adherence to safe systems of work.
  • •Operate shipboard lifting appliances safely, applying knowledge of load forces, lifting practices, and stress factors.
  • •Support cargo handling, stores transfers, and logistical operations while complying with environmental and pollution-prevention procedures.
  • •Maintain seamanship equipment and cranes through routine inspections, operator checks, defect reporting, and support vessel readiness and emergency duties.

Key Requirements

  • •Hold an Able Seafarer (AB) Certificate of Competence.
  • •Hold a recognised Crane Operator Stage 3 ticket with proven offshore/subsea lifting competence; knuckle boom experience with AHC is advantageous.
  • •Hold Fast Rescue Boat Certificate.
  • •Hold relevant STCW certifications including Personal Survival Techniques, Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting, Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities, Survival Craft, Designated Security Duties, and Elementary First Aid.
  • •Hold a valid ENG1 medical certificate and passport, and be IT literate with Microsoft Office (Word and Outlook).
