Job Summary

Perform and provide analysis for low to high complexity diagnostic testing in the relevant section, including pediatric and adult phlebotomy. Liaise with the Team Lead on test appropriateness, monitor and report results, ensure QC and compliance with JCI, CAP and ISO15189, and assist in equipment selection, maintenance, and inventory for a Libya-based laboratory.

Job Function: Laboratory & Clinical Operations

Key Responsibilities

•Actively participates in the technical and analytical work of the section.
•Liaises with the Team Lead on appropriateness of tests, results, and additional testing as required.
•Monitors, records, reports back results, and participates in discussions to rectify areas of concern if necessary.
•Identifies problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either corrects the problem or notifies the Team Lead.
•Responds to questions/queries and resolves problems pertaining to test requisitions, specimen requirements, test additions, priority changes (from routine to STAT and vice versa) and patient results.

Key Requirements

•Minimum 4 years’ experience in clinical laboratories as a licensed Clinical Scientist or Technologist (Required)
•Minimum 3 years of Phlebotomy experience in a pediatric hospital (Required)
•Minimum 3 years as a Technologist in a CAP or ISO15189 laboratory (Preferred)
•Minimum 2 years in GCC (Preferred)
•Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering or any related field
