Job Summary

Design and own the framework that governs responsible access to people data as it flows from Workday through cloud analytics environments like Databricks and into HRBPs, people leaders, and AI-powered tools. Partner with HR, Legal/Privacy, Security, Product, and Data Engineering to define access policies, data classification standards, RBAC, masking, auditability, and safe guardrails for LLM-based natural language querying.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and own Zillow’s People Data Access & Governance program, including policies, access frameworks, and data classification standards.
•Partner with HRBPs, People Analytics, Legal/Privacy, Security, Product, and Tech to build governance that protects data without driving ungoverned workarounds.
•Govern the full spectrum of access from governed metric layers and self-service analytics to back-end power user access in Databricks, accounting for tier-specific risk and accountability.
•Define how AI-powered tools and LLM interfaces fit into the access governance model and create guardrails for safe, scalable deployment.
•Lead access governance operations including intake workflows, periodic access reviews, exception handling, reporting, and scalable decision-making processes.

Key Requirements

•8+ years of experience in data governance, HR technology, people analytics, or technical program management with demonstrated program/domain ownership.
•Hands-on familiarity with Databricks and how row-level security, column masking, Unity Catalog, and RBAC work in practice.
•A clear mental model for how AI/LLM-based natural language interfaces change data governance and access control philosophy.
•Experience governing sensitive data lifecycle including classification, permissioning, access review cadences, audit trails, and exception handling (ideally people/HR data).
•Strong cross-functional partnership skills to align InfoSec, Legal, HR, Data Engineering, and Product around governance outcomes.
