Job Summary

Support mechanical analysis and verification of lightweight space structures for the Ariane 6 launcher. Use finite element modeling and analysis to ensure customer technical requirements are met, optimize components for mass, cost, and production constraints, and define and report qualification tests. Collaborate closely with design, thermal, materials/process, and assembly/integration teams, participate in design reviews, and produce engineering documentation for configuration control and customer enquiries.

Key Responsibilities

•Understand and design lightweight metallic structures subject to complex mechanical loading.
•Perform finite element modeling and analysis for Airbus space products, especially lightweight Ariane 6 structures using FEMAP and NASTRAN.
•Model and analyze structural components and assemblies to optimize mass, cost, and production/assembly requirements while ensuring safety and stiffness/fracture control.
•Define, perform, and report tests to qualify structures, subcomponents, or processes.
•Liaise with design, manufacturing, assembly/testing/integration, and other teams; support design reviews and produce technical documentation.

Key Requirements

•Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering with structural analysis or lightweight-structure focus.
•3+ years of experience as a mechanical engineer, preferably in aerospace, including mechanical design and verification of lightweight structures.
•3+ years of experience using finite element method, including linear and nonlinear mechanics.
•Hands-on experience with FEMAP and NASTRAN, plus experience working with ABAQUS.
•Experience with mechanical testing and qualification campaigns, including reporting; willingness to work in a dynamic environment.
