Job Summary

Safeguard and grow the company’s intellectual property by guiding business stakeholders on risk-based IP decisions. Develop and expand a technologically challenging patent portfolio by partnering with technical teams to identify and evaluate inventions. Draft and negotiate complex IP agreements, advise on patents and other IP types, manage outside counsel for patent applications, and provide strategic, cost-efficient management of a large patent docket.

•Provide strategic guidance to internal stakeholders on risk-based intellectual property decisions.
•Develop and grow the patent portfolio by partnering with technical teams to identify and harvest IP assets and recommending actions for business needs.
•Draft and negotiate complex IP agreements and advise on IP strategies, enforcement, protection, avoidance, and collaborations.
•Assess the competitive IP landscape and provide guidance to business leaders.
•Manage outside counsel for patent applications and provide strategic, cost-efficient management of a large intellectual property docket.

Salary: USD 140,000 - 215,000 annually

Key Requirements

•J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school with a license to practice in one or more jurisdictions.
•Registered U.S. Patent Attorney.
•Technical degree (B.S., M.S., or Ph.D.) in electrical engineering, physics, or a related field.
•At least 6–8 years of experience in patent law, including drafting and prosecuting patent applications and freedom-to-operate and transactional IP work.
•Ability to provide risk-based, business-aligned guidance and handle multiple complex IP matters.
