Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and mentor a team of geotechnical engineers and geologists.
  • •Coordinate collection, analysis, and evaluation of geotechnical data, including risk assessments and underground strata management.
  • •Uphold strata management standards in line with the Operations Management System.
  • •Provide strategic advice to the Technical Services department and Operations teams on maximizing operational value using geotechnical expertise.
  • •Participate in site improvement projects, ensuring geotechnical activities are integrated, well planned, adequately resourced, and implemented on time.

Key Requirements

  • •Tertiary qualifications in Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Mining Engineering, or a related field.
  • •Be a qualified Geotechnical Engineer; RPEQ registration is desirable.
  • •Demonstrated experience in underground coal mining.
  • •Exhibit high-level strategic thinking, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • •Strong communication and leadership skills to communicate and lead implementation of geotechnical activities.
