Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate boilers and may operate engines and boiler-associated auxiliary equipment.
  • •Monitor boiler operations by reading gauges, meters, and charts and maintaining boiler water, chemical, and fuel levels.
  • •Activate valves to change water, air, and fuel amounts in boilers.
  • •Fire coal furnaces or feed boilers using gas feeds or oil pumps and inspect/maintain equipment for efficient operation.
  • •Check safety devices and perform environmental checks routinely; record data and keep logs of operations, maintenance, and safety activity.
