Key Responsibilities

  • •Improve Akamai content delivery products through cross-functional collaboration and data-driven performance, availability, reliability, and efficiency decisions.
  • •Respond to escalations to evaluate capacity impact and drive improvements.
  • •Design strategies for allocating global capacity across products to balance efficiency, resilience, and customer experience.
  • •Engineer global traffic policies to continuously improve latency, availability, and resource utilization.
  • •Automate operational tasks and build monitoring/alerting/logging/analytics to proactively detect, mitigate, and prevent issues.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related engineering field.
  • •Experience with Python, Go, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
  • •Strong Linux/Unix CLI/shell skills with knowledge of Linux/Unix internals, network protocol stack, distributed systems, and systems design.
  • •Experience writing SQL queries for trend analysis, troubleshooting, and reporting.
  • •Experience with Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or a related role, including monitoring/alerting/logging platforms (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus).
