Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform reconnaissance, identification, and classification of UXO and MEC, including U.S. and foreign ordnance and fuzing systems.
  • •Conduct subsurface UXO investigations using magnetometers and other approved detection equipment.
  • •Excavate and recover buried UXO using manual and mechanical methods.
  • •Prepare and support UXO disposal operations, including establishing safe holding areas and assembling firing systems.
  • •Adhere to health and safety requirements and explosive safety standards, and complete technical documentation and field reporting.

Key Requirements

  • •Meet the functions of a UXO Technician II per DoD Explosives Safety Board Technical Paper 18.
  • •Minimum 3 years of EOD/UXO experience supporting munitions response actions and/or range clearance activities.
  • •Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification with annual refresher training.
  • •Recognize munitions and explosives of concern (MEC), including UXO, and apply explosive safety procedures using PPE.
  • •Ability to work safely in remote field environments and travel for field assignments as required.
