Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage a safe and healthy work environment and keep environmental impact within statutory requirements.
  • •Develop and maintain block designs, engaging stakeholders to review and optimize layouts and identify infrastructure needs for operational plans.
  • •Design and maintain infrastructure layouts in a 3D environment, including power reticulation, haul roads, intersections, ramps, and water reticulation systems.
  • •Ensure MAD and deployment strategies are current and aligned with OMS and the 12-Week Schedule; conduct site visits with schedulers to verify alignment.
  • •Monitor performance vs approved MAD designs, run reconciliation activities, identify variances/risks, and recommend corrective actions and recovery plans.

Key Requirements

  • •Develop and maintain block designs in line with pit and phase designs and the latest geological information (MTM model).
  • •Maintain Mine Activity Design (MAD) documentation and apply approved planning and design parameters throughout the MAD process.
  • •Align mine activity designs and deployment strategies with the Operational Management System (OMS) and 12-Week Schedule, translating strategies into graphical plans.
  • •3–5 years of experience in production, load, haul operations, mine planning, and pit layout.
  • •Relevant qualifications (Grade 12 or equivalent; National Diploma in Mining Engineering or equivalent; B Tech/Degree in Mining Engineering) and a SA Drivers Licence.
