Key Responsibilities

  • •Recommend preventative actions during task planning, preparation, and performance, and encourage reporting of incidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, and exposure incidents.
  • •Ensure site compliance with HSE procedures, including active Permit to Work compliance monitoring and assurance.
  • •Conduct audits and investigations, including root cause analysis, and analyze incidents while reporting to the SHE Manager.
  • •Coordinate and conduct site inductions, pre-starts, and toolbox talks.
  • •Engage with client operations to identify high-risk work and HSE support needs (e.g., Risk Assessment, Job Hazard Analysis) and support HSE inspections and corrective actions tracking.

Key Requirements

  • •3–5 years’ experience in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • •Relevant qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety.
  • •Previous HSE experience in an ongoing operational environment, preferably in the resources industry or major project capacity.
  • •Preferably trained and certified to PNG / Australian standards in practiced craft.
  • •Strong technical skills in HSE management and emergency response, including medical response.
