Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide personal financial counseling and management services to military service members and their families at assigned installations.
  • •Deliver one-on-one counseling, consultations with commanders or other providers, and provide referral resources outside counseling sessions.
  • •Develop and provide informational financial materials, and coordinate and publicize Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle.
  • •Work with installation and military branch Points of Contact (POC) to ensure the program stays within scope and meets installation needs.
  • •Use virtual counseling or other electronic communication modes when authorized; manage duty to warn situations and participate in supervision, training, and quality improvement activities.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree required; may consider associate degree plus 4 years’ experience or high school diploma plus 6 years’ experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • •3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • •U.S. citizen and able to speak fluent English.
  • •Obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation and pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
  • •Must have one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
