Key Responsibilities

  • •Design, develop, and integrate AI solutions in space systems such as predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, autonomous decision-making in orbit, and ML-based signal processing.
  • •Improve and automate development processes using AI tools including CI/CD pipelines, code quality analysis, and ML-driven test automation.
  • •Design, implement, verify, and validate flight, simulation, and test software for embedded real-time systems.
  • •Define and analyze software, system, and AI requirements (specifications, user stories, backlogs) in close collaboration with system engineers, hardware developers, and data scientists.
  • •Support SW/HW bring-up on development hardware, integrate AI models into embedded environments, perform error analysis, and maintain technical documentation while contributing to agile processes.

Key Requirements

  • •Completed Master/Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Physics, or a related field with an AI/Machine Learning focus
  • •Solid knowledge of Machine Learning and Deep Learning for embedded systems (e.g., TensorFlow Lite, ONNX Runtime, TinyML, computer vision for space applications)
  • •Multi-year experience developing embedded real-time systems in C and experience with RTOS such as VxWorks, RTEMS, or Embedded Linux
  • •Knowledge of HW-oriented interface programming and protocols such as SpaceWire, MILBUS, CAN, PUS, or TCP/IP
  • •Fluent German and English (written and spoken)
