Key Responsibilities

  • •Set technical direction for how AI is built and shipped across Jira Service Management.
  • •Design and continuously improve multi-step LLM pipelines, including prompting strategies, model selection, output parsing, and orchestration.
  • •Build retrieval and grounding systems that surface relevant context (e.g., knowledge articles, past requests, structured data, tool outputs).
  • •Own quality, latency, cost, and reliability of AI workflows, and make quality measurable via evaluation frameworks and scoring methods.
  • •Run disciplined experiments to validate impact, set multi-quarter ML strategy across teams, and mentor and grow emerging ML engineers.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years total experience with 5+ years in MLE/data science, plus fluency in Python.
  • •Strong understanding of supervised/unsupervised learning, deep learning, and NLP.
  • •Familiarity with ML libraries including scikit-learn, Keras/TensorFlow/PyTorch, numpy, and pandas.
  • •Experience designing LLM-based pipelines (prompting strategies, model selection, output parsing, orchestration) and building retrieval/grounding systems (e.g., RAG).
  • •Experience architecting high-performance RESTful microservices for ML models and scaling/operating deployments in production with MLOps.
