Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the technical strategy and architecture for the POS Application Platform, acting as a domain CTO for POS-device application layer engineering.
  • •Build and govern developer experience, platform reliability/observability, foundational frameworks (architecture, coding standards, testing & release), and drive squad adoption.
  • •Define and enforce engineering standards across POS device types and OEM manufacturers to ensure consistent architecture and quality across a heterogeneous fleet.
  • •Functionally lead POS engineers embedded across Payments, Onboarding, VAS, Savings, and Loans squads, setting engineering quality bar.
  • •Own end-to-end POS observability (monitoring, alerting, incident response) and architecture for onboarding/governing new device types, collaborating with OEM partners and hardware teams.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years hands-on software engineering experience, including 6+ years leading engineering teams through growth phases.
  • •Direct, hands-on experience building software that runs on Point-of-Sale terminal devices (application layer on-device, not server-side integrations).
  • •Strong knowledge of EMV standards and experience navigating payment certification processes such as PCI DSS and P2PE.
  • •Deep Android engineering expertise in Kotlin and Java.
  • •Proven experience building internal engineering platforms/shared libraries and governing/architecting across multiple POS device types and OEM manufacturers.
