Job Summary

Lead Paddle’s Application Excellence (AppEx) team within the Platform group to improve internal developer experience and developer productivity. Own initiatives from planning through rollout, synthesize organization-wide feedback into a clear roadmap, and drive alignment across engineering and leadership. Manage, coach, and keep yourself hands-on to contribute to code reviews while overseeing technical decisions, shared libraries, and improvements to reliability and scalability for a high-traffic, event-driven system.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the team to deliver initiatives from concept and planning through rollout, partnering with engineers and stakeholders.
•Own developer productivity and internal developer experience outcomes, including self-serve tooling and best practices.
•Listen across the organization, synthesize feedback, build buy-in, and maintain a clear, well-argued roadmap for sustainable impact.
•Coordinate across team boundaries (including SRE, Security, Principal Engineers, and leadership) and influence without relying on authority.
•Manage and coach engineers while staying hands-on—contributing to code and reviews and overseeing technical decisions and shared libraries/tools.

•Significant experience as a senior engineer on complex, large-scale, cloud-based systems (Go is a plus), including time on Platform or Internal Developer Experience teams.

•Experience building products for internal stakeholders and developers.
•Strong ability to build trust and alignment by gathering/synthesizing feedback and communicating clear rationale before executing.
•Ability to thrive in ambiguity—shaping loosely-defined problems into a sequenced path while moving at pace.
