Key Responsibilities

•Define and drive the technical direction for AI-powered developer tools, ensuring reliability and maintainability while enabling innovation across editors, IDEs, CLIs, and code review workflows.
•Partner with cross-functional teams to understand engineering needs, identify friction in workflows, and scale high-impact AI solutions.
•Design and implement AI-assisted development workflows and autonomous cloud agents that reduce toil and accelerate software delivery.
•Develop reusable agent skills, tools, and integrations that can be adopted broadly across Asana’s engineering teams.
•Improve AI-assisted code review workflows to deliver faster, higher-quality feedback during review processes.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 248,000 - 282,000 annually

Key Requirements

•8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years of experience leading complex technical projects across teams.
•Experience building developer tools, internal platforms, infrastructure, IDE/editor integrations, CLIs, or workflow automation.
•Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex), or extending coding agents, MCP-based integrations, AI-powered code review systems, or agent skill/tool ecosystems.
•Experience building evaluation and quality frameworks for AI-generated outputs.
•Strong technical judgment and systems design skills, with the ability to make pragmatic tradeoffs in ambiguous or rapidly changing environments.
