Key Responsibilities

  • •Define and drive the technical direction for AI-powered developer tools, ensuring reliability and maintainability while enabling innovation across editors, IDEs, CLIs, and code review workflows.
  • •Partner with cross-functional teams to understand engineering needs, identify friction in workflows, and scale high-impact AI solutions.
  • •Design and implement AI-assisted development workflows and autonomous cloud agents that reduce toil and accelerate software delivery.
  • •Develop reusable agent skills, tools, and integrations that can be adopted broadly across Asana’s engineering teams.
  • •Improve AI-assisted code review workflows to deliver faster, higher-quality feedback during review processes.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years of experience leading complex technical projects across teams.
  • •Experience building developer tools, internal platforms, infrastructure, IDE/editor integrations, CLIs, or workflow automation.
  • •Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex), or extending coding agents, MCP-based integrations, AI-powered code review systems, or agent skill/tool ecosystems.
  • •Experience building evaluation and quality frameworks for AI-generated outputs.
  • •Strong technical judgment and systems design skills, with the ability to make pragmatic tradeoffs in ambiguous or rapidly changing environments.
