Key Responsibilities

  • •Tackle deep, systemic architectural challenges across Payoneer’s platform, supporting multiple product teams.
  • •Own end-to-end migrations, including decomposition of monoliths and rearchitecting data layers.
  • •Build shared infrastructure and tooling that increases engineering throughput and safety.
  • •Create AI-enabled modernization workflows (e.g., automated code generation, AI-driven migration scripts, intelligent test generation, documentation).
  • •Drive architectural decisions with cross-team impact and help set engineering culture for a new team.

Key Requirements

  • •6+ years of backend engineering experience in Node.js with strong fundamentals and production experience.
  • •Strong understanding of distributed systems, including messaging, caching, microservice communication patterns, and failure modes.
  • •Practical experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and comfort working across its ecosystem.
  • •Ability to own complex technical work end to end, from design through production.
  • •Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor or equivalent) as part of day-to-day engineering.
